dental marketing ideas 2016

As we wave goodbye to the families that came in for their back to school exams and the dog days of summer, it’s time to plan your end of the year events.  Cutting Edge Practice recommends that you engage in 4 different dental marketing initiatives every month!  Here are some dental marketing ideas that you should start to implement during September 2016.

1.  Create social media and blog posts specifically for September.   September is:

  • Hispanic Heritage Month
  • Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
  • Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness Month
  • Take a Loved One to the Doctor Day (typically the last week in September)
  • Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month

2.  Draft your end of the year insurance letter.  Each year, you should prepare a letter or email letter reminding your patients that their insurance benefits are about to expire.  Order enough letter head and business envelopes to send the letter to each guarantor in your data base.

3.  Begin looking at Thanksgiving and holiday cards. Ordering early will ensure you get the best prices and you will have the cards well before the holiday season starts.

4.  Consider Joining the Wrigley Oral Healthcare Program.  Get free educational and promotional materials and sugar free gum to distribute to your patients.  This is a great way to get ready for Dental Hygiene Month in October.

5.  Start planning your October social media entries.  Here are a variety of opportunities for events, social media posts and blog posts:

  • Dental Hygiene Month
  • National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
  • National Diabetes Month
  • National Vegetarian Month

6. Start planning your October events.  Here are a couple events you might consider:

  • Plan a tooth brush trade in event.
  • Collect Halloween candy to send to members of the armed forces.

Preparing for dental marketing events, blog and social media posts takes time and planning.  Start by brainstorming ideas with your staff.  Getting your staff involved will create excitement for your 4th quarter dental marketing strategy!
